PVCA and Martin's Feed Mill

PVCA is very excited to announce a new collaborative initiative with Martin's Feed Mill in Coburn, PA. Martin's and PVCA will be working together to develop watershed friendly (not officially certified but a huge step) products produced locally and milled at Martins, including non-gmo (genetically modified organisms) layers' and broiler mixes, black-oil sunflower seed, and birdseed-- as you the members of PVCA purchase these products there the proceeds will go to PVCA and the work that we do for the waterways, farmers, and a thriving local economy. The products aren't quite ready, but we want to learn more about your demand for them. We're really excited to work with Martin's. (read some of the backstory here)

One of the best parts of growing sunflowers in the valley is more sunflowers in the Valley!

Perhaps you are wondering "what difference will non-GMO corn make here in our watershed?"

Well, there are a lot of reasons, but this is certainly one of them-- Monarch Butterflies.

PVCA - New Environmental Education Coordinator

Hi my name is Jim Flanagan and I am the newly hired Environmental Education Coordinator. I would like to share with you a little bit about myself.

Three weeks after I was born, I was already boating with my family on the Allegheny River in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, wearing a handmade life vest and smiling.  I guess you can say I was raised on the water and in nature and have been hooked ever since.
